HR Ready Lunch and Learn

Join HR Reliance and the Shenandoah Valley SBDC for an afternoon lunch discussing what's in your "leadership toolbox" as it relates to small business leadership and human resources.  

What's in Your Leadership Toolbox?  - During this session, we will cover the following:

1. Prepare - The importance of building strong relationships with your team members upfront (i.e. invest in their emotional bank accounts). This will include making time to get to know individuals, establishing clear expectations (especially as you move from peer to manager), and a brief overview of studies done by the Gallup organization showing employees want to be Valued and Coached.

2. Plan - Using a 4-step process, we'll talk about communication in the context of giving and receiving feedback. This will cover effective communication skills, such as active listening, and helps in difficult conversations regardless of the context (i.e. employees, vendors, customers, etc.)
